Bausch Datacom
Who we are

Bausch Datacom has been producing communication products since 1987. It's technology is field proven and goes back to the core of data communication. Bausch specialises in integrating TCP/IP connectivity, applications and communication protocols in their modems and Remote Terminal Units allowing the upgrade of existing meter -and (industrial) PC parks.

Bausch Datacom is building nowadays a diversified portfolio of IEC 60870-5-104 slave RTU's and GPRS/3G/LTE/CDMA 450mHz modems, EV charging infrastructure electronics and innovative midvoltage sensor technology for IEC-60870-5-104 MASTER systems and modem managing systems - Praxis MMS - using GSM and GPRS. Whether you want to monitor a smart EV charging infrastructure, monitor grid power quality parameters or transfer meter data, our aim is to offer smart communication products using the IEC 60870-5-104 SCADA protocol and management software.

Bausch Datacom aims for the next years at offering solutions for communication and monitoring of MV/LV substations in the electricity grids in Europe. Our aim is to offer cost-effective products to counter the budgetary issue of equipping a vast infrastructure of MV/LV substations with monitoring and communication devices. Equally Bausch Datacom invests it's engineering in electronics for charging poles for EV. (eNovates)
The portfolio for the next years to come will be existing of communication products (Modems and RTU's), monitoring modules (ARGUS), EV charging electronics, a DMS system communicating with the modules in the field and DSO or third party DMS systems. It is the task now to merge these products in one concept valuable for both DSO's and management services companies.

Our values

Bausch Datacom, founded in 1997, is a manufacturer of communication products (modems, RTU’s…). The company is a small, Belgian SME, based near Brussels. Since 1997, approximately half a million modems and RTU’s have been sold. From 2003 onward, the company changed its focus to the utility sector in Europe, specifically on infrastructure management for electricity providers and large consumers. Wired and wireless (PSTN, GSM, GPRS, 3G, 169 MHz, CDMA 450 MHz) communication devices, mainly for metering automation, were the core business up to 2012. Since then, the company has shifted its market vision towards a comprehensive approach to smart grid issues of the MV/LV nodes of the electricity grids. With these shift, a pan-European market strategy was also adopted.

Bausch Datacom aims to extend its communication portfolio offerings with solutions for monitoring of MV/LV substations in the electricity grids in Europe. Our goal is to offer cost-effective products to counter the budgetary issue of equipping a vast infrastructure of MV/LV substations with monitoring and communication devices. Seeing the potential market from both the supply and the load side, Bausch Datacom also invests engineering in electronics for EV charging infrastructure. (eNovates)

The company’s portfolio for the next years will consist of existing communication products (Modems and RTU’s), extended with monitoring modules (ARGUS), EV charging electronics, a management system communicating with the modules in the field (EURPOA); as well as load management tools for aggregators and EV charging island operators, receiving information from DSO distribution management systems (DMS) for load balancing. It is our goal to merge these products into one, integrated concept, valuable for DSO’s, management services companies, and their customers.
