The S5-Current loop converter of IBHSoftec has SMD electronics that are put in a solid metal 15-pin SubD connector shell. The pin appointment is suitable for different SIMATIC® PLCs.

It has a 9-pin SubD connector that is connected into the serial port of the PC. The PLC is required to have a power supply to generate the loop current at 2 x 20 mA. If the PLC is not active, the current loop converter can operate as a power supply.
