The ROBA®-diskstop® brake is an electromagnetic safety brake actuated by quiescent current.
In the de-energised state, springs press the armature disk against the brake disk. The brake disc is held between the lining carriers.
When a voltage is applied, the magnetic force of the coil in the coil carrier pulls the armature disk against the coil carrier against the spring pressure. The brake is released and the brake disc can pass through.
