The FPC safety brake is a crucial part in the construction industry and in other sectors where loads are lifted by rack and pinion, chain or cable.
This device is responsible for quickly and safely stopping the fall of loads or lifting platforms when the normal working speed is exceeded.
When is it activated?
The FPC safety brake is activated when the rate of descent exceeds a preset value, generally between 30% and 50% above the rated speed of the application.
This device uses centrifugal force to lock the brake shaft, which in turn stops the transmission of the structure.
The stop is cushioned to ensure safety and avoid abrupt impacts. The result is a quick and controlled stop of the load or platform.
Automatic reset
After activation, the FPC safety brake can be automatically reset by raising the platform a few centimetres in the opposite direction of locking. This allows work to resume immediately without the need for manual intervention.
Highlights of the FPC Safety Brake:
Maximum torque up to 7000 Nm.
Maximum speed over 120 m/min.
Progressive centrifugal locking.
Micro switch for brake status.
Different construction options, output shaft, twin shaft or hollow shaft.
Unidirectional or bidirectional.
Complies with EN 12158, EN 12159, EN 1495, 2014/33/EU and ATEX 2014/34/EU.
Versatile Applications The FPC safety brake finds its use in a variety of industries and applications.
