Brabender Auto-Grader: Automatic, continuous in-line measuring system of MFI and film quality
What does it measure?
- Melt-flow index (MFI)
- Film quality properties: contaminations / impurities, optical properties (e.g. haze, colour)
- Composition, e. g.: residual monomer, additives
Why is this important?
The rheological properties are essential to determine the right processing parameters. The MFI is traditionally the most widely used for this purpose.
The film quality properties and composition are needed for the classification of the manufactured raw material.
What is your benefit?
- Continuousness: 24/7 operation, automatic sampling and data acquisition, automatic alarms to the operators.
- Human assistance is needed only at alarms and the removal of the extrudate.
- Compactness: easy installation to the existing manufacturing lines.
- Expansibility: besides the default continuous rheological measurement system, different types of film quality analyzing systems or infrared spectrometers can be attached.
