The latest generation of ECL Anode Stem Connection Devices is based on an energy reserve concept. It ensures an appropriate clamping effort even in critical anode stem misalignment situations. These situations occur when an anode is placed in the cell and crust residues impede its proper horizontal positioning. When these residues dissolve or crumble, they allow the anode to move, causing slippage of the anode.

The ECL Anode Clamps is of an isostatic type giving a reduced pressure contact on the threads of the screw for higher reliability. It also allows further compensation to misalignment leading to reduced wear and increased service life.
Fives offers complete anodes connection assempblies including clamps and J-Hooks. The Pot Tending Machineextracting devices can be adapted to suit our clamps.
The anode clamps are tested in Fives’ laboratory using both endurance tests and functional tests in order to ensure maximum reliability and efficiency.
