Todays high-quality large engines increasingly rely on common-rail fuel injection. This key technology has enabled significant improvements to be achieved in terms of fulfilling all four key requirements of engine manufacturers. Fuel injection at any desired pressure can be timed to the microsecond, independently of the engines operating cycle. For the engine manufacturer, the use of the compact, powerful common-rail platform pump has the economic and logistical advantages that the same pump can be used for virtually the entire engine range. This applies equally to heavy-fuel and diesel applications.
Thanks to many years of experience and expertise in developing and manufacturing such injection systems, LOrange has acquired an outstanding reputation. And in fact in the year 2014, it manufactured its 850,000th injector.
